Why this site exists
Totally Marrakech exists to answer the questions people actually have before and during a trip to Marrakech — not to pad out a list for its own sake. Most travel content about the city either recycles the same five attractions or reads like it was written by someone who's never actually navigated the Medina at 6pm on a Saturday. We're trying to do better: specific, current, occasionally opinionated guidance from people who know the city, organised so you can find exactly the page you need.
How we approach content
We'd rather publish fifty genuinely useful pages than five hundred thin ones. Every guide on this site is built around a real question — "is Marrakech safe," "how much should I pay for this rug," "what does Jemaa el-Fna actually look like at different hours" — rather than a keyword we're trying to rank for. Where we're not certain about something (exact prices, opening hours, current events), we say so rather than inventing a false sense of precision.
What's on the site
The core of the site is organised around the decisions a trip actually requires: what to do, where to stay, when to go, how to get around, and how to spend money wisely in the souks. Beyond that, we cover individual attractions and day trips in depth, neighbourhood-by-neighbourhood breakdowns, ready-made itineraries for different kinds of trips, and a blog for topics that don't fit neatly into a single hub page — safety, budgeting, festivals, and seasonal changes like Ramadan.
How the site grows
We're new and growing, adding new guides several times a week. We started with the essentials and are building outward from there — deeper neighbourhood coverage, more individual attraction and souk-craft guides, and eventually translated versions of the site for visitors who'd rather read in their own language. French is live now, with more languages planned.
Independence
Totally Marrakech isn't run by a hotel chain, a tour operator, or a booking platform, and we don't accept payment to feature specific properties or businesses. Where we mention named hotels or brands, it's because they're genuinely well known or relevant to the topic — not because anyone paid for the placement.
