Morocco Entry Requirements for Marrakech Visitors
The rule is determined by your passport and type of stay, not by Marrakech itself. Here is the official-source-first way I check visas and entry documents without pretending one nationality’s rule applies to everyone.

Morocco entry rules depend on your passport, not on the fact that you are flying to Marrakech. I would check the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs first, then your own government's travel advice. Do not copy a visa rule from a travel blog written for another nationality.
Start with Morocco's official visa-exemption list
The Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs maintains the official route to information on visa types and the list of nationalities exempt from an entry visa. That list is the useful starting point because it separates travellers who can enter visa-free for a short visit from travellers who need a visa or other authorisation.
Australian travellers: the current rule is generally under 90 days visa-free
For an Australian example, Smartraveller currently says Australians generally do not need a visa when travelling to Morocco for less than 90 days. That is nationality-specific guidance, not permission to turn “90 days visa-free” into a universal rule for every reader.
If you need a visa, check whether the official eVisa route applies
Morocco operates an electronic visa system for eligible travellers through its official Access Maroc platform. Eligibility depends on nationality and, in some cases, residence or other valid visas. Because those categories can change, I would use the Ministry's current links and the official application platform rather than an old copied eligibility table.
Passport validity: verify the rule for your passport
Generic travel sites often repeat a six-month passport rule as if it were universal. Entry requirements can be more nuanced, and airlines can also apply document checks before boarding. Check the Moroccan embassy or consulate serving your passport country, and renew early if your passport is close to expiry rather than gambling a trip on the minimum.
Make sure your arrival is recorded
Smartraveller notes reports of travellers having difficulty leaving Morocco when their passport did not contain an entry stamp. After passport control, check that your entry has been properly recorded before you leave the airport. If anything looks wrong, resolve it at the border rather than discovering the problem on departure day.
Do not overstay
A visa-free period or visa validity is a legal limit, not a suggestion. Australian advice warns that overstaying can prevent departure until your status is regularised and may lead to penalties. If plans change and you may exceed your permitted stay, deal with the immigration position before the deadline rather than relying on airport negotiation at the end.

What I would carry to Marrakech
Keep your passport secure and have a digital backup accessible separately. Save your accommodation name, address and contact details offline. Keep proof of your onward plans and travel insurance available if needed. These are sensible travel documents even when an officer does not ask to see every one of them.
Entry rules can change after you book
Recheck shortly before departure, especially if there has been a border-policy change, passport renewal, long delay between booking and travel, or change in your nationality/residence status. The official Moroccan source should win over a cached search snippet or an old airline forum post.
